Angling Improvement Fund
Back in January this year the club applied for grant aid from The Angling Improvement Fund which is administered by the Angling Trust working in conjunction with the environment agency. These funds are made available from fishing licence sales in England.
This year around £150,000 was made available for up to 30 - 40 projects in support of maintenance, repair and improvement works. The club's application was successful and we received a grant of £5,000 to go towards a new scheme to provide a drain off sluice which is designed to support the overflow system on the top lake at Stoneham.
This project has been planned for some time and will enable the club to run off extra water during peak flows, thus reducing the pressure on the dam.
For more information on the work of the Angling Trust and the projects supported by the Angling Improvement Fund, please visit the Trust's website here.
Please take a look at the various photographs as the work progressed.
The club would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff at M J Abbott's of Salisbury, for undertaking these works. Also Mark Wilton and Chloe Guy from the Angling Trust for their support when completing our application.
